Avocado Green Mattress
I never understood the term family bed until our kids were born. Somehow our bed has become a meeting place and a place to nurse sick babies. The problem is, our mattress is in no way ready for that kind of action.
I started shopping for a new mattress but who has time to go through the 8000 mattress start ups that have blown up? Again a late night nursing session gave me the greatest idea. I want a mattress that is going to be more natural, but still comfortable. I reached out to Avocado and asked if I could try out and give an unbiased review their Avocado Green Mattress.
I am so surprised by how comfortable this mattress is. We chose the pillow top, and somehow it is the perfect blend of firm and soft that we both want. It also smelled natural and lovely, even seconds after the delivery service set it up. I also got to try their pillows and I am pleased to report I have replaced my old memory foam pillow and Avocado pillow permanently.
What I LOVE about the Avocado Green Mattress:
Unbelievable comfort: We have never had a mattress we could agree on, and we both love this one. It feels like a super supportive cloud. I can actually side-sleep on it, which I can’t do on any other mattress.
Supportive: I always know a bad mattress by how sore my joints are in the morning. I wake up feeling well aligned and my joints feel just fine.
Natural materials: Made from organic cotton, wool, and sustainably sourced latex, I feel completely comfortable letting my kids sleep on it.
Non-toxic: I appreciate that there are no chemical flame retardants and no petroleum-based polyurethane foam used in production.
No off-gassing: Even directly out the plastic packaging it smelled like cotton. I have never had a mattress smell that good. It was such a surprise, because I feel like off-gassing happens with everything these days. Non-toxic=no off-gassing.
Made in California: It took a few weeks, because the mattresses are made to order in California. It felt nice to support a company who employs workers at a living wage.
Eco-friendly: I like that when I’m done with it, this mattress is recyclable and biodegradable. It is even better that it is made from sustainable materials.
Warranty: Avocado Green Mattress offers a 25 year warranty.
Overall thoughts: Outside of in being on the heavy side, this mattress checks every box for me. I appreciate that they offer a 100 night sleep trial with free delivery and returns, but I will NOT be returning this matter. If sustainability, comfort, and natural materials matter for you, this is the mattress to buy!
